Mark Hennessey

Mark Hennessey

Mark’s involvement in the construction industry began 29 years ago as a CITB apprentice. Since then, Mark has worked his way through the construction industry and is now ASD Build’s Managing Director and is recognised as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB).

Mark leads ASD Build as an organisation that values integrity through the built environment whilst maintaining the importance of continuing education in construction training and experience. Mark’s main role is to maintain ASD Build as an ethically operated organisation, able to treat its employees, stakeholders and local communities with integrity.

Outside of work, Mark’s main interests include his family, sport and participating in Ironman and triathlon events.

Rob Bailey

Rob Bailey

Rob is a qualified accountant by profession and stepped into the construction industry in 1998. Rob has 17 years’ experience within the construction industry and is Vice Chair of the Federation of Master Builders, representing the UK’s building construction industry. He is also accredited as a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).

Rob’s primary role at ASD Build is to lead the organisation with Mark, directing the financial strategy of the organisation.

In his spare time, outside of looking after his young family, Rob keeps himself busy playing squash, running and racing his Jedi racing car F1000 series.

Mike Hennessey
Contracts Manager

Mike Hennessey

Mike has 21 years’ experience in the mechanical & electrical and construction industry. He has experience working at management level with national and local organisations in the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

Mike is ASD Build’s Contracts Manager’s and Buyer overseeing all ASD cost negotiations with suppliers and external sub-contractors. Mike is qualified to Construction Black Card Level and is working towards an NVQ level 6 Diploma in Construction Site Management.

Outside of business hours, Mike spends time with his young family, enjoys watching different sports, participating where and when possible and has a keen interest in motorsports.

Rachel Hennessey
Project Team Manager

Rachel Hennessey

Rachel has 10 years’ experience at the front line of the construction industry having previously worked at the National Assembly for Wales for 12 years as an Account Manager, facilitating the training and development needs of large organisations in South Wales.

Rachel’s role at ASD Build is to lead the Project Management team to deliver ASD Build’s planned objectives and commitments at various development sites across South Wales. Rachel has construction management qualifications and is continuing her professional development of the PRINCE2 with the support of ASD Build.

Outside work, Rachel enjoys supporting her son play Rugby for Llanishen RFC and Cardiff Blues U16’s. Rachel keeps fit and enjoys participating in Crossfit, travelling and spending time with her family and friends.

Jacob Jones
Trainee Project Manager

Jacob Jones

After leaving school in 2016 and gaining further education in the built and surveying environment, Jacob joined ASD Build. Jacob currently attends the University of South Wales and is studying to be a fully qualified Project Manager.

Jacob’s main role at ASD is working as part of an effective Project Management team. He has also taken a strong role within our Health & Safety department. Jacob’s ambitions are to grow with ASD Build and lead the Project Management team in the future.

In his spare time, Jacob enjoys exercising, watching and playing football.

Peter Jones

Peter Jones

Peter has been involved in various roles within the construction industry for 15 years. A fully qualified plant operative, Peter has worked his way up the company ladder and is now a fully qualified supervisor. Peter is well respected amongst his peers and senior management team. ASD build will work with Peter to develop his skills through internal training so he can reach his full potential.

Outside work Peter is kept busy with his 3 children and family life. As an ex-Welsh league footballer, Peter is a keen follower of all sports in Wales.

Ray Sheldon
Site Manager

Ray Sheldon

Ray has 22 years’ experience in the construction industry. From studying Architecture at university, Ray initially began working on civil engineering projects which ultimately resulted in gaining a management role in the commercial sector. Ray has since worked in the domestic construction, insurance and surveying industry.

Ray’s current role as Site Manager is working on our Aberdare Girls School project delivering a programme of works to our client.
Ray has several construction management qualifications and will further his continuing professional development within ASD Build.

Outside work, Ray is a family man with a keen interest in attending racing Enduro Motorcycle events with his son and equestrian events with his daughters.

Denise Bradley
Group Support Manager

Denise Bradley

Denise has 35 years experience in Human Resources, Payroll and Senior Management, working within Manufacturing, Wholesale and Warehousing.

Denise is Group Support Manager and is a chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), with a diploma in payroll management with certificates in employment law, environmental awareness, stress management and IOSH managing safely.

Outside of work Denise as 2 young border collies which keep her active with long walks, she also enjoys reading and gardening.

Steve Cullen

Steve Cullen

Steve’s involvement in the construction industry started 35 years ago with a traditional craft apprenticeship at an organisation building residential houses. Steve also has vast experience in the plant side of construction and is accordingly qualified.

Steve is ASD Build’s Site Manager at the Moorhead Close site. Steve has gained all the relevant management qualifications required for his role. He is a valued management asset of ASD Build.

Outside of business hours, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, motorsports and walking the Welsh hills north of his hometown Merthyr.

Katherine Musa
Administration/Accounts Assistant

Katherine Musa

From working in hospitality for 12 years Katherine has gained experience with accounting and customer service in Cardiff and London. She is currently studying part-time towards a Business and Accounting Degree. Katherine is looking forward to her career in the construction industry and gaining her skills within accounting.

In her spare time Katherine enjoys shopping, spending time with her son, watching rugby and seeing family and friends.
